This track opens with a simplified melodic quote from Claude Debussy's tone poem "Sirenes", coupled with a fragment from Part II of Maurice Ravel's ballet suite, "Daphnis and Chloe". (I always thought of them as complimentary even though they were written many years apart.) This segues into a short original theme for piano & ensemble called "Barcarolle", which sets up the transition into "Electrically Speaking”, a song whose lyrics are just about images I observed late one evening flipping between a few select cable channels.
